Jimmy Walter / Boris Vian

Boris Vian performed his song J’suis snob for the first time at Les Trois Baudets in February 1955, accompanied by its composer, Jimmy Walter. The song, which was supposed to be called Snobisme, was released on Boris Vian’s second vinyl record, Chansons possibles.

Full of wit and comic bawdy expressions, J’suis snob is written in first person and depicts the life of these people who, in the middle of the 20th century, tried to stand out at any cost through their particularly original looks and behaviour… until their final breath.
