Blackbird

9,99

Lyrics and music John Lennon / Paul McCartney
Arrangement Daryl Runswick

Paul McCartney said that he woke up one morning in Rishikesh (Northern India) and heard a blackbird sing. He said that he took his guitar to put the singing of the bird into music. Another more metaphorical version would be a denunciation of the oppression of racial minorities in the United States. Martin Luther King would be the « blackbird with broken wings ». The song was recorded on 11 June 1968.
